SAN FRANCISCO – Adding on to the 2025 recruiting class, Academy of Art women's soccer has announced the newest insertion to the squad in Isabella Meneses (Lakewood, Calif./Gahr High School) to join the Urban Knights.
"I chose ART U because it allows me to pursue both my passions, soccer and art, at a high level," said Meneses. "It's the perfect place for me to grow as both an athlete and an artist."
A key contributor to 33 wins throughout her high school career, Meneses tacked on a 2023 San Gabriel Valley League Championship to her resume after helping the team earn an undefeated 10-0 conference record prior to the squad's 2-0 playoff victory against the Academy of Academic Excellence. A team captain and four-year varsity squad player for the Gladiators, Meneses capped off her senior campaign with a second place finish in league, bettering nine other schools. In addition to her high school career, Meneses spent time on numerous travel ball squads, including Beach Futbol Club, Total Futbol Academy, Fram Soccer Club, and SoCal Reds FC.
"I'm excited to compete at the college level, improve my game, and be part of a creative environment that pushes me artistically," Meneses said.
With a future goal of working as an illustrator for children's books, Meneses will join the Academy of Art women's soccer team as an inductee into the School of Illustration. Meneses joins Roxy Medina as part of ART U's incoming recruiting class.
