Sophomore pitcher/utility Kayla Vaughan (7-15) struck out two of her eventual three batters later in the frame as the game remained scoreless through three innings.

Academy of Art struck first in the fourth as singles from sophomore outfielder Ari Mallari and junior infielder/catcher Olivia Glover set up runners in scoring position for graduate student outfield Cailee Grayhorse-Pupecki to deliver the run on a groundout. The Knights' 1-0 lead held up until the bottom of the fifth when Jessup tied it up on a run-scoring double. In the sixth inning, the Warriors rallied once more and went on to secure the series finale 2-1.
