Brian Rodgers

Brian Rodgers joins the Urban Knights in his first season as an assistant coach, bringing both collegiate coaching and playing experience to ART U.

Prior to coming to the Academy of Art, Rodgers most recently worked as an assistant coach at Humboldt State University. He assisted the Lumberjacks starting June of 2008, and spent two years working under coaching legend Tom Wood. During Rodgers’s coaching time at Humboldt, he helped the team to a 20-12 record during the 2008-2009 season. The following year (2009-2010), he helped coach the team to a 22-8 record and a CCAA Conference Championship. His team also participated in the NCAA tournament both seasons he coached, and they concluded the 2009-2010 season with a semi-finalist CCAA Conference Tournament  finish.

Rodgers first began his coaching career in 2007 where he was the Camp Director at Upward Basketball in San Jose, CA. As the Camp Director he organized camp schedules and managed the camp coaches and drills.

After growing up in Roseville, CA, Brian started his education and playing experience at East Central University. There he participated at the Division II level, earning Academic All Conference Honorable Mention in his 2005-06 season. After two years at ECU, Rodgers transferred to Bethany University (Scotts Valley, CA) to finish his education and playing career. At Bethany, he competed at the NAIA level and graduated Summa Cum Laude in May, 2008 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Business Administration. Rodgers then earned his Masters in Business Administration from Humboldt State University in August of 2009.

Brian currently lives in San Francisco. His family still resides in Roseville, where he frequently visits.
