Colin Preston has been an instrumental piece of getting the Academy of Art University Athletics program off the ground. Preston, a UCSB graduate ('06), was at one point the only employee with Athletic Director Dr. Williams.
In January 2011, Preston was named the Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach. Previously as Assistant Athletic Director; Operations, Preston handled all operations for facilities, event management, team travel, and transportation. During the 2008-2009 season, Preston assisted the inaugural Women’s Soccer team.
Prior to joining the Academy of Art University, Preston served as an Assistant Athletic Director at San Marcos High School in Santa Barbara, CA for one year. As Assistant Athletic Director with the Royals, Preston handled the scheduling aspects of the entire athletic program as well as eligibility. His most recent endeavor was an internship at the California Interscholastic Federation. At the CIF headquarters, Preston worked with event management of the High School State Championship events as well as media relations and marketing development.
Preston, a California native, was born in Modesto and now resides in San Francisco. A graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara, Preston got his undergraduate degree in History and minored in Sport Management. Preston received his master’s degree from USF in Sports Management (‘09).
