Vilmundur "Vimmi" Sveinsson enters his first year as an assistant coach for the Academy of Art University men's soccer team after playing a full four seasons for the Urban Knights.
Sveinsson joined ART U in 2008 and went on to become emblazoned in Academy of Art University men's soccer history as one of five of the program's original four-year athletes. Vimmi captained the Urban Knights for all four years, powered the back line, and had his share of exciting highlights during his 64-match career. As a defender, he took part in three game winning goals, scoring two and assisting one. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from Academy of Art University in spring 2012.
Sveinsson hails from Reykjavik, Iceland and currently resides in San Francisco.
