Marlon Britton began as a volunteer with Academy of Art track & field in the fall of 2018.
A standout alumni, Britton earned accolades in each year of his collegiate track & field career with the Urban Knights.
Starting as a freshman in 2014, Britton was a contributing member to ART U’s All-American 4x100m relay team in the outdoor season. He would help Academy of Art repeat as All-Americans in the same event as a sophomore and individually garnered an All-Region selection in one of his signature events: the 60m hurdles.
Year three saw him assist with All-Region honors in 60mH once more and the outdoor 4x100m before he would make it three in a row in the 60mH in 2017. The Chicago native saved some of his best for last as he was not only All-Region in the 110m hurdles and 4x100m during the outdoor season, but he also took home his third career All-American trophy in his final collegiate race in the 4x400m at 2018 Outdoor Nationals. Britton still holds the program records in the 60mH (7.99) and is part of the top 4x100m relay team (40.37).
A nine-time All-Region honoree and three-time Academic All-PacWest recipient, Britton epitomized the well-rounded student-athlete in his time at ART U.
Britton graduated from Academy of Art in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in Music Production & Sound Design for Visual Media.
