Joy Aud

Joy Aud, the program's first men’s golf head coach, now enters her second season at the helm of Urban Knights men's golf. Under her guidance, sophomore Matt Garcia achieved the title of Pacific West Conference champion in 2009. This will also be her first year as head coach of women's golf at Academy of Art University.

Aud came to the Academy of Art University from Notre Dame de Namur University where she was on the inaugural golf team and helped set a tradition for players to come. During Aud’s senior year, she was team captain and also received the Most Improved Golfer of the Year award. Aud worked as a bag girl at Lake Merced Golf Course, assistant merchandiser at Del Rio Country Club, and was the golf school assistant at Greg Coplin Golf School located at Crystal Springs Golf Course

After graduation from college, Aud coached Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep girl’s golf team. Under the direction of Coach Aud, the varsity golf team had a record of 12-2 and appeared at the CIF regional championships for the first time in school history. That is no surprise as Aud is no stranger to winning. In high school, Joy played varsity golf for two years and her high school team had a winning streak of 49 matches in a row along with four conference titles.

Aud is excited and ready to build a tradition of excellence here at the Academy of Art University. Aud received her MBA from Notre Dame de Namur University in 2008. When Aud is not coaching, she enjoys playing with her dog, and spending time with her family and friends.
