Amy Brown began as a volunteer with Academy of Art University women’s tennis in January 2019.

Working with tennis all her life, Brown began coaching in San Francisco in 2014. Currently the director of junior tennis at Bay Club SF Tennis, Brown handles scheduling and coordination of the Junior Academy, Junior Team Tennis, and summer/holiday camps. In addition to her work with juniors, Brown has served as a tennis pro at Bay Club SF Tennis, running adult clinics at a variety of levels while also instructing private lessons.

Brown previously spent time at the girls’ varsity tennis coach in the Anderson Union High School District from 2013-14 and was the assistant coach at Vanguard, her alma mater, in 2008.

Growing up playing tennis in Redding, Brown competed in junior tournaments throughout Northern California and would attend Vanguard University where she was a four-time All-American. Brown was one of VU's top female players her entire career, ending as the No. 1 singles player in Vanguard's lineup as a senior in 2007. The team captain was also a solid performer on VU's No. 2 doubles team. Raking in NAIA All-America and Scholar-Athlete honors, Brown ended her career with the Lions as the 18th-ranked singles player in the NAIA.

Brown helped lead Vanguard to the quarterfinal round in 2007, making her career complete with four trips to the NAIA Tournament. She completed her bachelor's degree in Communications.
