Vaughan Set As Last Fall 2022 Recruit For Women's Soccer

SAN FRANCISCO – Now preparing for the first week of practices, Academy of Art women's soccer and is coaching staff has announced the final member of the Fall 2022 recruiting class, as joining the Urban Knights this season will be Haley Vaughan (Las Vegas/Jacksonville State University). 

Haley VaughnEntering ART U as an athletic sophomore, Vaughan spent the previous two seasons with Jacksonville State University where she played soccer, appearing in one contest last year. Prior to her collegiate career, the defender by trade attended Palo Verde High School where she played varsity soccer, earning a ranking by MaxPreps as the No. 8 player in the state of Nevada. During her time at Palo Verde, Vaughan helped the Panther program to 20 wins in her two years on the varsity squad, and by the end of her career was selected to her first All-Star Game.

In addition to her prep career, the Las Vegas native has also appeared for numerous competitive clubs, most notably being coached by J.J. Wozniak with the Heat Soccer Club ECNL, a club she played with from 2016-2020. Additionally, Vaughan has also participated in the Real Cup in 2017 and 2019. 

Born to an athletic family, Vaughan's relatives, Inga and Jena Vaughan, also played collegiate volleyball for UNLV while her brother, Tanner, currently plays football for the University of Mary. Listed as her favorite sports memory is the time when her team won the state championship, with the reward being a trip to Hawaii to play in regionals. 

Upon her arrival at Academy of Art, she will enroll in the School of Communications & Media Technologies. She is the sixth member of the ART U Fall 2022 recruiting class, joining Alicia CalderonClaire LauDanielle MedellinNatalia Cruz, and Mohala Kalauli
