ART U matches up with Jessup for the second time in 10 days this Saturday, Jan. 18 at 1 p.m. from Kezar Pavilion. Two days later on Monday, Jan. 20, the Urban Knights will be inside Special Events Center for a 1 p.m. tip-off versus Fresno Pacific. Remember to follow @ARTU_Knights via the athletics app (

KNIGHT WATCH

With two recent victories elevating Academy of Art to 9-6 overall and 2-5 in PacWest play, the Urban Knights come into this week having logged wins over SF State (
Nov. 8), Cal State Monterey Bay (
Nov. 9), Cal Maritime (
Nov. 12), Stanislaus State (
Nov. 16), Sonoma State (
Nov. 21), UC Merced (
Dec. 1), Chaminade (
Dec. 21), Jessup (
Jan. 8), and Lincoln (Calif.) (
Jan. 11). ART U has kept its last six opponents to field goal percentages of .404 or less and thus remains first in the PacWest in lowest opponent field goal percentage (.342).
Maintaining its active 15-game streak (21 straight dating back to the end of last year) with at least seven different players scoring, the Urban Knights are paced by senior forward
Yasmine Sifaoui 10. 7 points per game (21st in PacWest) with the conference's third-highest field goal percentage (.489). Scoring 30 points over her last 31 minutes played, junior guard
Alba Rovira Ayuso has upped her scoring average to 9.3 points per contest while senior forward/center
Christy Ojide Boiko adds 8.5 for an ART U squad with seven different Knights averaging at least 6.0 points per game.
Ojide Boiko, who recently achieved her 100th career block, and freshman forward
Keira Mitchell share the ninth spot in the PacWest rankings at 1.0 blocks per contest. With 558 rebounds in her career, Ojide Boiko needs just 14 more to reach third in program history and, should six more come on the defensive glass, she will be fifth in that category. Sophomore guard
Lucia Revenga dished out her second-highest assist total of the season (5) against Lincoln to put herself now 10th in the PacWest in assists per game (2.7) and still tied with fellow sophomore guard
Anna Fornells for 12th in the conference in steals per game (1.7).
JOUSTING JESSUP
Playing just one game since a 56-50 loss to Academy of Art on Jan. 8, Jessup sustained its sixth consecutive loss, a 65-52 result at Dominican, on Jan. 11. Still just barely second in the PacWest in opponent points allowed per game (59.3), the Warriors have relied on Andrea Jovicevic's 12.4 points (15th in PacWest) and 6.1 rebounds per contest (14th in PacWest) though it was Kayla Vieira's 12 points and six rebounds that led the squad against the Knights. Though this season's meeting was the first since 2010, ART U has now won three straight, pushing the all-time matchup to 3-1 versus Jessup.
FRESNO NO. 2
Following a 66-57 victory over Academy of Art in San Francisco on Dec. 13, Fresno Pacific won just two of its ensuing seven games including a 74-70 victory over Chaminade most recently on Jan. 15. FPU has held opponents to the third-lowest field goal percentage (.360) among PacWest teams while maintaining a balanced offense led by Bre Hurt and Jayla Green's 9.9 and 9.7 points per game averages. On the winning side the last four times out, the Sunbirds are ahead of ART U 13-11 through 24 historical matchups.
ACADEMY OF ART OFFENSE EXPLODES IN 96-70 ROUT HOSTING LU
Academy of Art women's basketball could not be stopped in the second half of a 96-70 non-conference victory over Lincoln inside Kezar Pavilion on
Jan. 11. Scoring 31 and 28 points respectively in the final two quarters, the Urban Knights combined for the program's eighth-highest scoring total in their 17-year history.
LOOKING AHEAD
On the road for the remainder of the month, ART U prepares to face Menlo for the first time in program history next on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 1 p.m. in Atherton.
