The first full pentathlon for Maika Cuenca-Andreo since joining Academy of Art women's track & field was a strong one as she put herself not only among the national leaders but also top three in program history.

Up against a heavily NCAA Division I field in the pentathlon on Feb. 6 at the Riverfront Invitational & Multis, Cuenca-Andreo collected 3,503 points to enter the country's top 25 NCAA DII Indoor Nationals provisional qualifiers. She took 10th of 22 on the day as well as third all-time among Urban Knights after offering marks of 9.13 in the 60m hurdles, 5-1 (1.55m) in the high jump, 31-9.5 (9.69m) in the shot put, 18-0.5 (5.50m) in the long jump, and a career-best 2:26.82 in the 800m.
