Academy of Art track & field's Lina Hanich made her return to the podium at the NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships, finishing among the country's leaders in the 800m run.

First in the 800m prelims on May 23, Hanich made her move to hold off Adams State's Lieke Hoogsteen down the final straightaway, winning the two competitors' heat with a 2:07.92 mark that had her eighth among qualifiers to the final. The Advertising major proceeded to improve upon that placement on May 24 as she was step-for-step with fellow Pacific West Conference member Olivia Alexandre down the stretch and ultimately finished fifth overall with a time of 2:06.98.

Hanich finished her collegiate career as a seven-time All-American.
