2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Nationals Results (Day 2)
PUEBLO, Colo. – An exciting second day of NCAA Division II Outdoor Nationals had one Academy of Art track & field Urban Knight hoist an All-American trophy while others qualified through to Championship Saturday.
Yacouba Gnacko highlighted the day with the best triple jump of his career.
The country's leader coming into the triple jump, Gnacko opened as one of just five jumpers to surpass 15.70m as his 51-6.5 (15.71m) put him fifth through all competitors' first attempts. On his third try, the native of Paris, France added a full foot onto his initial mark, achieving a new personal record of 52-6.5 (16.01m) to move into fourth. Gnacko remained in that position the rest of the way, securing his 10th career All-American honor while Pitt State's Tre Betts soared to the fourth-farthest mark in NCAA DII history at 54-0 (16.46m) to capture the title.
In her 800m prelim heat,
Lina Hanich challenged three others among the nation's regular season top 10 and emerged with the victory on Friday. Among the top two throughout the race and pushing past Adams State's Lieke Hoogsteen down the final straightaway, Hanich finished with a 2:07.92 mark that was good for eighth among qualifiers to the final.
As the sun set on the CSU Pueblo ThunderBowl, the Academy of Art men's 4x400m relay prelims proceeded to cap the day with quite an exclamation mark.
Tre'Sean Bouie,
Robin Black,
Tariq Dacres, and
Josh Marlin used a strong start to hold the second position tracking Pitt State in their respective heat. As each Urban Knight contributed impressive relay legs, the end result was the second-fastest time in program history at 3:06.02 and the fourth spot heading into the final.
Championship Saturday will see ART U close out the season with three event finals including Hanich in the 800m at 2:50 p.m. MT (1:50 p.m. PT), Black in the 400m hurdles at 3:25 p.m. MT (2:25 p.m. PT), and the men's 4x400m relay at 4:55 p.m. MT (3:55 p.m. PT).
