2025 Franson Last Chance Results
AZUSA, Calif. – On the eve of the regular season finale, Academy of Art track & field delivered some of its best performances of the season at the Franson Last Chance inside Cougar Stadium on Saturday.
Yacouba Gnacko soared not one but two full feet past his previous season best, registering a 52-1.75 (15.89m) out of the gate on his first attempt. Sharing a flight with Olympian Emmanuel Ihemeje of Team Italy as well as UCLA's Terrance Sweetman, Gnacko placed second of 20 on the day while rocketing nearly 20 spots up the national ranks into sole possession of first in the country at the NCAA Division II level. He ended less than two inches from the mark that ranks second all-time in program history (52-3.25 / 15.93m).
The men's 4x400m relay quartet of
Tre'Sean Bouie,
Robin Black,
Tariq Dacres, and
Josh Marlin combined their efforts for the first time this season and did not disappoint. The ART U squad blazed to the second-fastest time in program history with a 3:07.19 that put them second only to NCAA DI Cal Poly on the afternoon as well as third among Outdoor Nationals provisional qualifiers in 2025. The effort was the fastest by Academy of Art in the last two full years of action.
For the eighth time this season, Bouie authored an Outdoor Nationals provisional mark in the 400m dash as he placed second of 40 competitors at 47.02. It was his fourth-fastest time of the year.
The Urban Knights' final opportunities to qualify for Outdoor Nationals will take place at tomorrow's Cal State LA Very Last Chance.
