Graduate student Hasna Kaarour delivered another breakout performance this past weekend, winning the UC San Diego Triton Classic (Oct. 20) outright.

In a race that featured No. 7 Chico State, Kaarour was more than two full seconds faster than second-place, finishing first of 121 runners with a 6k lifetime-best of 22:04.5. She posted an average mile time of 5:55.2.

"I was so excited to win this race today in San Diego," said Kaarour. "The course was very hilly so it wasn't easy. In the beginning, I just wanted to have a fast start to have a good position because the trails were very narrow. I was directly ahead and I was so surprised, but I felt very good so I decided to keep the pace and stay ahead. I'm really happy to win the race in this way."
