ART U HOSTS DOMINICAN, FRESNO PACIFIC IN FIRST HOME CONTESTS
One of five teams undefeated in Pacific West Conference play thus far, Academy of Art University women's basketball rides the momentum of two victories in the past two weeks into its home debut. ART U will look to continue its selflessness and defensive intensity, remaining among the nation's leaders in both assists and turnover margin.

The Academy of Art defense has only gotten stronger as ART U now ranks 11th in NCAA Division II in turnover margin (7.33) and total steals (120) as well as 12th in total assists (172). The Knights are also top 25 in the country in assist to turnover ratio (1.31 - 20th), total rebounds (493 - 21st), and three-point field goals made (90 - 18th). Senior guard Jasmin Guinn maintained her place as the PacWest's leading scorer (19.4 points per game – 25th in NCAA DII), eighth-ranked rebounder (8.0 rpg), as well as the country's total steals leader (46) and fifth in the NCAA DII in steals per game (3.83). Her seven steals at Fresno Pacific were a season-high and give her now three or more steals in each of her last nine games.

Named USBWA National Player of the Week after setting a new program single-quarter scoring record, senior guard Sha'Nice Storey (11.5 ppg) has become one of four Knights averaging double figures offensively. She connected on six of her eight 3-pointers during a 20-point opening quarter at FPU and went on to pour in 30 points for her season-high. She leads the PacWest in three-point field goals made per game (2.5) and ranks 14th in the country in that category.

Senior guard Zoie Sheng, third in the PacWest in assists (5.3 apg) and assist-to-turnover ratio (2.0), comes into this week seventh in the conference in scoring (15.8 ppg) while senior guard Regina Camera has been stuffing the stat sheet with 14.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 2.3 steals per game.

PENGUIN POINTERS
Dominican opened its 2015-16 campaign winners of four of its first five games including a three-point victory over Humboldt State. The week of Thanksgiving, the Penguins dropped contests to UC San Diego and Cal State San Bernardino before returning to their winning ways with a 78-51 result over Fresno Pacific. Dominican brings in the PacWest's third leading scorer in Allyssa Weatherd (18.4 ppg), who also ranks second in field goal percentage (.522) and ninth in rebounding (8.0 rpg). In 13 previous meetings, ART U holds a 12-1 advantage against the Penguins.

LEAVING THE NEST
Fresno Pacific is 1-4 in its past five games after taking an 88-63 home loss to Academy of Art on Dec. 12. In that contest, the Sunbirds' leading scorer Taylor Caspers (12.5 ppg) went for a team-high 19 points while Megan Lee (10.6 ppg) added 15 points. FPU is set to face Holy Names on Dec. 17 prior to its fifth-ever meeting with the Knights who come into the weekend matchup 5-0 all-time.

KNIGHTS DOMINATE INSIDE AND OUT IN VICTORY
Powered by a historic first quarter from Storey, ART U women's basketball relied on its defense to yield high-percentage shots in an 88-63 win over Fresno Pacific on the road. Inside FPU's Special Events Center, Storey set the program's single-quarter scoring record with 20 points out of the gate including six 3-pointers as Academy of Art took a lead and scored 42 points in the paint en route to its second Pacific West Conference win.

LOOKING AHEAD
Academy of Art will have a 16-day break from competition following this week's PacWest games then rings in the New Year with a Jan. 5 contest at Holy Names.
