Winners of two of their last three matches, ART U volleyball returns to Kezar Pavilion for two more home contests over the next six days. Academy of Art defeated Stanislaus State and Azusa Pacific each in five sets before dropping a matchup with Concordia, setting up BYU-Hawaii (Sept. 28) and Dominican (Oct. 3) next.

KNIGHT WATCH
14947Rising to 27th in the country in blocks per set, junior middle blocker Margaret Winkler has reestablished herself atop the PacWest with rejections per set. Now seventh on the program's all-time career blocks list with 50 of her 166 this season, she is 101 behind program leader Amy Bush. Senior outside hitter Melissa Brum finds herself in a similar position as she has moved to within 100 kills of the program's career record. Brum, who has averaged 2.84 kills per set in 2016, now has 1,216 behind Dan Yang's 1,313. Freshman setter Lilika Teu has broken out for three double-doubles in her last three matches, including new career-highs of 44 assists and 16 digs.

ALOHA BYU-HAWAII
Although BYU-Hawaii defeated Cal Poly Pomona and SF State in a 2-3 start to the year, the Seasiders have struggled since, falling in each of their next seven contests. Four of those were in straight sets and they are still in search of their first conference victory through matchups with UH Hilo, Chaminade, and Dominican. Thus far, BYUH's top hitter has been Sinamoni Tonga (2.93 kills per set) while Brittany Waite ranks eighth among the conference's highest hitting percentages at .297. BYU-Hawaii has historically been extremely dominant (including a PacWest title as recently as 2014), winning all 12 previous pairings with Academy of Art.

DOMINICAN DOUBLETIME
Since topping Academy of Art 3-1 in San Rafael on Sept. 17, Dominican has gone 2-2 with wins over Fresno Pacific and BYUH along with 3-1 losses to Concordia and California Baptist. The Penguins are slated to finish their own four-match homestand with an Oct. 1 contest against Hawaii Pacific. Dominican leads the PacWest in digs per set (19.04) in large part thanks to libero Amanda Lee's second-ranked 5.40 average while Aimee Steinwand is the team's top hitter at 2.78 kills per set. The loss earlier in the year brought the Penguins closer to evening the all-time matchup which now favors ART U 10-8.

CONCORDIA SWEEPS ACADEMY OF ART
Up against one of the toughest Pacific West Conference opponents in Concordia, Academy of Art University Volleyball had a large crowd on its side, but ended up falling 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-14) on Sept. 24 inside Kezar Pavilion.

LOOKING AHEAD
The Urban Knights head out on their lone out-of-state roadtrip next week when they travel to Hawaii for three matches. Stops include Chaminade (Oct. 7), BYU-Hawaii (Oct. 8), and Hawaii Pacific (Oct. 10).
