This season will have a special feel for the Urban Knights as 2017 marks the 10th year of competition for Academy of Art. To lead the program as they close out their first decade of collegiate athletics, Chris King was recently named head coach of the ART U women's soccer program. King excelled in his position as assistant coach in 2016 which earned him the promotion before the start of the new year. Also looking to make an impact this year will be four freshman: Sydney Cooke, Veronica Rodriguez, Helia Miller, and Alyssa Rasmussen. Each join the team hailing from different backgrounds with hometowns ranging from Honolulu (Rasmussen) to Lake Tapps, Wash. (Cooke). Each will hit the ground running in their rookie seasons, looking to earn their place among the team's starting eleven.

The Urban Knights will also be led by five seniors who will be hanging up the cleats on their collegiate careers after this season: Maggie Alikpala-Wilson, Laney Haviland, Kendall Bozart, Abigail Chavez, and Aliya Salas. Both Haviland and Bozart have been with the program since their freshman seasons and will look to leave it all out on the field this year.
