FINAL BAY AREA WEEK PITS ACADEMY OF ART AGAINST NDNU, HNU
Back to compete in the Bay Area one last time, ART U volleyball puts its 5-1 Northern California pod record on the line at Notre Dame de Namur and hosting Holy Names this week.

FIRST SERVE
The Urban Knights finish up the final Bay Area matches of the year inside NDNU's Walter Gleason Gym in Belmont this Wednesday, Nov. 13 then back inside Kezar Pavilion to take on Holy Names this Thursday, Nov. 14. KNIGHT WATCH
Coming off four matches with six or more service aces in each, ART U remains third in the PacWest in service aces per set (1.63) and fourth in digs per set (16.84). Once again on pace for the highest single-season hitting percentage in program history (.352), sophomore middle blocker Jillian Wheaton currently ranks third in the conference and 22nd in NCAA Division II at .385. With their recent strong serving, the junior outside hitter tandem of Mariana Figueroa Ferriera and Ashley Pawlak are now ranked second and third in the PacWest with averages of 0.39 and 0.37 service aces per set respectively. Pawlak (2.44) and Figueroa Ferriera (2.14) join Wheaton (2.21), junior middle blocker Carly Evetts (2.36), and junior middle blocker/opposite Sadie Emery (2.30) as the quintet of Urban Knights averaging over 2.10 kills per set. Making moves up the program's career list, Pawlak has gained sole possession of third in service aces (85), fourth in career digs (974), and seventh in career kills (612). Sophomore setter Picabo Reinhold, who has posted a team-high 17double-doubles, ranks third in the PacWest in assists per set (9.52) and sits third in all-time with 1,552 career assists for ART U. 

ARGOS AGAIN
Following a 3-1 loss to Academy of Art on Sept. 25, Notre Dame de Namur dropped 13 straight before topping Holy Names and Dominican in back-to-back five-set matches most recently. The Argos are led by Samantha Shaffer's 2.41 kills per set and Rowan Jack's 4.00 digs per set. Including the Urban Knights' most recent victory, they lead NDNU 13-11 in the historical matchup.

REMEMBER THE NAMES
Staying local since their Oct. 30 defeat at ART U's hand, Holy Names battled Fresno Pacific and NDNU into fifth sets most recently, but ultimately fell in both. HNU, whose lone PacWest victory came against Dominican on Sept. 23, has Sierra Allen ranked 10th in the conference in points per set (3.22) and Jasmine Yun fifth in assists per set (7.56). As the Urban Knights look for the season sweep, they come into Thursday's matchup leading the Hawks 17-5 all-time.

LOOKING AHEAD
The 2019 regular season wraps up next week with three matches in Hawaii. Academy of Art starts in Honolulu with a Nov. 20 rematch against Hawaii Pacific and remains in the area to face Chaminade on Nov. 21. The trip concludes on The Big Island with a Nov. 23 contest at UH Hilo.
