2019 D2CCA All-West Region Teams
FRESNO, Calif. -- After his record-breaking season, junior outfielder
Thomas Delgadillo was named to the All-West Region Second Team. Delgadillo became the first Academy of Art baseball player to ever receive a selection to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-Region Teams. This is his second postseason award, as he was previously an
All-PacWest First Team selection.
Comprised of 33 student-athletes from 15 programs, the position-based D2CCA All-West Region Teams are voted on by the NCAA Division II sports information directors from institutions and conference offices. All the honorees now become eligible for selection to the 2019 D2CCAÂ Division II All-America squads.
In his first season as an Urban Knight, Delgadillo demolished the ART U single season hits record and led the PacWest in batting average. His incredible .422 average also led the West Region, was 14th best in the nation, and broke the ART U single season batting average by a whopping .071 points. On
April 20th, with nine games to play, Delgadillo connected for his 60th knock of the season to break Joseph Marchini's record set in 2015. Delgadillo went on to collect a total of 73 hits, breaking the previous record by 14 and solidifying his record as one of the most unbreakable records in the ART U books. This is Delgadillo's first All-West Region award.
