KNIGHT WATCH

Junior midfielder
Reyna Valencia scored the fastest goal in Urban Knights history
during ART U's shutout win over the Hawks on Oct. 10, putting a ball in the back of the net just 51 seconds into the contest. By the end of the match Valencia had a hand in all three Urban Knights goals scored, as she also chipped in a pair of assists (the 14th two-assist match in program history). Already entering that game as the team's leading scorer, she now owns team best marks in goals (two), assists (two), and points (six), and is just one point and assist off of her career high that she set in 2018 as a freshman (seven points, three goals). Two of her goals have gone down as game winners, tying her for fifth in the conference.
Scoring the first goal of her season against HNU was senior forward
Brooklyn Morera, as she scored her fifth goal in her last three matches against HNU dating back to last season, and she now leads the team both in shots (24) and shots on goal (nine). Tallying the first goal of her ART U career during the same match was graduate student midfielder
Melissa Wilson, while junior defender
Avica Robings and sophomore forward
Brooklyn Villapudua each snagged their first assist of the campaign.
Standing out in goal has been sophomore goalkeeper
Nicole Peoples, as the two-time PacWest Defender of the Week had a streak of 36 consecutive saves without allowing a goal, spanning a total of 354 minutes of game action. Though that streak has since ended, Peoples is still among the best goalkeepers in the PacWest, as she leads the conference in save percentage (.891) and save per game (7.13) while ranking second in total saves (57). With a 2-4-2 record, Peoples has a low 0.891 goals against average with 3.1 shutouts, with the shutouts tied for the second most in a single season and third most in program history. Also starting in goal this season is senior goalkeeper
Jordyn Wight, who has recorded a .667 save percentage and a 3.03 goals against average with a total of 28 saves, including
a career-high eight in the the last match against Azusa Pacific.
BACK UNDER THE SEA
Though Hawaii Pacific sits well below .500 at 3-8-1, the Sharks are coming off a 2-1 win in their last match against Dominican in Northern California, putting an end to a 0-2-1 stretch in their previous three contests. Offense has been hard to sustain for HPU, as they generate just 8.3 shots per match leading to 0.67 goals per game, while opponents average 16.6 shots per match. Entering as the top scorer is Caylie Uyema with eight points, coming on the strength of four goals which is tied for the fourth most in the PacWest. The squad moves as Uyema does, as she has totaled 26 shots for the season, double that of the next closest teammate. Projected to start in goal is Madi DePhillips, who has posted a .790 save percentage and a 1.33 goals against average while making a total of 49 saves. Hawaii Pacific sits in front of ART U in the all-time series matchup, 8-3-1.
COUGARS DEFEND HOME FIELD AGAINST KNIGHTS
It was tough for Academy of Art women's soccer to keep up with the offense from Azusa Pacific during their Pacific West Conference showdown on Monday, as APU would walk away the victors, 6-0.
LOOKING AHEAD
The final home match of 2021 lies ahead for the Knights, as senior day will see ART U take on the Silverswords of Chaminade on Nov. 4 at 10 a.m. after honoring this year's seniors with a pregame ceremony.
