PacWest Conference Weekly Awards (Feb. 15)
IRVINE, Calif. – Thanks to a pair of double-doubles in what was a 1-1 week for Academy of Art men's basketball, senior forward
Josh Hill was named the Pacific West Conference Northern California Player of the Week. The award is for games played from Feb. 8-14.
Over the course of the week, Hill averaged 18.5 points per game and grabbed an average of 14.0 rebounds per game, marking his fourth and fifth double-doubles for Hill in seven games. He is now
tied for 15th in the nation in that category, returning among the nation's leaders after appearing in the top-20 in double-doubles last season. In an
80-75 overtime win over the Penguins on Feb. 9,
Hill tied for the team lead in points with his second 20-point game of the year, while also snatching 17 boards for the third time in the 2020-21 campaign. Hill produced a 17-point, 11-rebound performance
in the rematch on Saturday, shooting 7-for-12 (58.3 percent) from the field. To fill out the
rest of the stat sheet, Hill averaged 1.5 steals, 1.0 block, and 1.0 assist per game in the two contests.
It is the first PacWest weekly honor for Hill in his career, but is the second such award for the Urban Knights this season, as redshirt junior guard
Jalen Lovett was recognized for his play the
week of Jan. 25.
