PacWest Conference Weekly Awards (Feb. 15)

IRVINE, Calif. –A two-goal performance in Academy of Art women's soccer's 2-0 victory over Holy Names has earned junior forward Brooklyn Morera her first Pacific West Conference NorCal Player of the Week award. The honor is for games played from Feb. 8-14. 
 
It was a goal in each half for Morera, leading ART U to a victory against the Hawks on Feb. 11 by launching four shots, three of which were on goal. Morera buried a strike with her right foot off of a centering pass from freshman midfielder Zineb Ighirri for her first marker in the 26th minute and the quick 1-0 lead, then added an insurance goal in the 71st minute when she tallied a beauty of a bender from the right wing around the HNU keeper to the far-left post for her second goal of the season. 
 
While it is the first PacWest weekly award of the season for Morera and the Urban Knights, it is the second such award of her career, having taken home the honor for her performance on Sept. 17, 2018.
