Manns' Productive Efforts Net Final PacWest Weekly Honor

PacWest Conference Weekly Awards (Mar. 8)

IRVINE, Calif. – Contributing in numerous ways offensively and defensively throughout a 2-1 week for Academy of Art women's basketball, junior guard Lauryn Manns was named Pacific West Conference Northern California Player of the Week. The award is for games played from Mar. 1-7.

Manns began a week that featured three games against Dominican with her second-highest scoring effort of the year on Mar. 2. Her game-high 28 points (including 4-for-5 from long range) pushed ART U to its largest point total of the season and came with four rebounds, three assists, one block plus six steals, the most by an Urban Knight in 2021 as well. Three days later on Mar. 5, Manns stuffed the statsheet once more with 14 points, five rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and two steals in a 76-71 victory over the Penguins. One of at least four ART U players to score in double figures for the fourth consecutive game, the Corona, Calif. native then closed out the week scoring 11 points while adding five rebounds, one assist, and one steal in an 80-60 win on Mar. 6.

For the week, Manns averaged 17.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.0 steals, 2.3 assists, and 1.0 blocks per game. She ended the regular season ranked fifth in the PacWest in scoring (16.7 points per game) and fourth in steals per game (1.9).

This is the first PacWest weekly honor for Manns this season.
