2021 CoSIDA Academic All-District Baseball Teams
GREENWOOD, Ind. – The postseason accolades continue to roll in for Academy of Art baseball junior outfielder
Ty Conrad, as it was announced on Thursday that Conrad has been selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District Team for District 8.

Selected by CoSIDA, All-District honors are given to the nation's top student-athletes for their performances not just on the field, but in the classroom as well. To qualify for the CoSIDA All-District Baseball Teams in Division II, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or greater through the most-recent semester and must have completed one full calendar year at his or her institution (graduate students are an exception to this requirement). A total of 96 individuals from 60 teams were honored including seven from Pacific West Conference teams. First Team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Academic All-America ballot to be announced later in July.
Conrad, owner of a 3.50 cumulative GPA in the School of Communications & Media Technologies, is coming off a season in which he helped lead ART U to its first ever postseason appearance as the anchor to the ART U lineup, ending his season in the top-10 of the PacWest in four different categories, including runs scored (6th, 35), hits (t-3rd, 46), runs batted in (8th, 33), and stolen bases (t-10th, 8). His .338 average was the best on the Knights, and he led in the team in home runs (t-1st, 4), slugging percentage (1st, .493), and OPS (1st, .910). Additionally, Conrad was the only Urban Knight to tally a five-RBI game this season, which is
tied for the most in a single game in ART U history, with the first to do so being current ART U assistant coach
Stefen Henderson on
Apr. 2, 2012.
This is the fourth honor for Conrad since the conclusion of the season, as he has been named to two All-Region teams (
2021 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA DII West All-Region Second Team and
2021 D2CCA All-Region Second Team) as well as being selected to the
All-PacWest Second Team. This is the first time Conrad or any Urban Knight has received the academic honor.
