REGULAR SEASON'S FINAL WEEK CONCLUDES WITH SWORDS, SHARKS IN TOWN
Just two Pacific West Conference matches remain for Academy of Art volleyball this year as the Urban Knights are set to host Chaminade this Wednesday then Hawaii Pacific this Saturday with seniors libero/outside hitter Isaura Santos and middle blocker Jillian Wheaton to be celebrated on Senior Day.

FIRST SERVE
At home inside Walter Gleason Gym twice more this season, ART U first hosts Chaminade this Wednesday, Nov. 9 at 6:30 p.m. before welcoming Hawaii Pacific to Belmont on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. A brief Senior Day ceremony will take place just prior to first serve on Saturday. Remember to follow @ARTU_Knights via the athletics app (Apple App Store, Google Play Store) and on Twitter & Instagram, as well as "Like" the Urban Knights on Facebook for score updates, videos, and recaps.

KNIGHT WATCH
Isaura Santos & Jillian WheatonDouble-doubles were had by both graduate student outside hitters Amalie Rupertova (15 kills, 10 digs) and Maya McClellan (11 kills, 11 digs) their last time out against UH Hilo and they remain the only two student-athletes from the same team who rank inside the PacWest's top seven in kills per set at 3.28 (sixth) and 2.85 (seventh) respectively. The pair has combined for 18 total double-doubles this season as well with McClellan second on the team at 2.79 digs per set and Rupertova at 2.55.

Keeping her streak alive with 20 or more assists now in each of her last nine matches, junior setter Elly McInerney finds herself fifth in the conference in assists per set (6.58). Still in the top five in the PacWest in digs per set, Santos is averaging 3.92 digs per set with double-digit totals in 11 of her last 13 matches.

Wheaton will have two more matches to attempt to break the program's career block solo record. Driven by her team-high 0.69 blocks per set, the Animation & Visual Effects major currently ranks second only to career leader Amy Bush in block solos (40, four from a new record) in addition to being fourth in total blocks (250) and third in block assists (210).

SWORDPLAY
Receiving 62 votes on the latest AVCA Division II Coaches Poll, Chaminade recently clinched at least a tie for the PacWest Championship after defeating Holy Names for the Silverswords' fifth consecutive win. CUH has just one conference loss, a 3-1 result at the hands of Point Loma on Oct. 19, and has otherwise executed 12 sweeps of PacWest opponents including ART U on Sept. 16 in Hawaii. Chaminade leads the PacWest in hitting percentage (.235) and service aces per set (2.44) with three Silverswords among each category's top 10. Lataisia Saulala is third in hitting percentage (.313) and Sasha Colombo is fourth (.307) while Greta Corti ranks third with 0.49 service aces per set. Academy of Art and CUH have met 22 times previously and the Swords are up 14-8 all-time.

SHARK WEEK
Since ART U defeated Hawaii Pacific on Sept. 17, the Sharks have gone 2-11 with wins over UH Hilo and Dominican. HPU opened its final Bay Area roadtrip with a sweep at Fresno Pacific's hand and will face Dominican (Nov. 9) and Holy Names (Nov. 10) on back-to-back days before rematching Academy of Art. The Sharks' top offensive threat has been Demi Winters who is averaging 2.14 kills per set. With the Knights' two wins in the last three times these teams have faced one another, the historical matchup currently favors Hawaii Pacific 17-6.

KNIGHTS' FIRST SET SUCCESS DOESN'T SUSTAIN IN LOSS TO HILO
The Nov. 7 Pacific West Conference rematch started on a confident note for Academy of Art volleyball as the Urban Knights bested UH Hilo by nearly 10 points, but the Vulcans managed to turn the tide toward their eventual 3-1 (14-25, 25-23, 25-19, 25-17) victory thereafter. Graduate student outside hitters Amalie Rupertova and Maya McClellan each finished with double-doubles, but it was not enough inside Walter Gleason Gym.
