KNIGHT WATCH

With at least one hit in six of her last eight games, sophomore infielder
Haley Randall has elevated herself into the team lead with a .295 batting average. Her first home run of the season plus three runs batted in have coming during that span. Also heating up in her previous five times out, senior catcher/infielder
Lauryn Henderson is hitting .461 with a homer, two doubles, and four RBIs across that stretch.
After limiting No. 3 Concordia's potent offense to just three earned runs in her Feb. 27 outing, sophomore pitcher
Jolene Rhoades (0-9) is just two innings back of freshman pitcher
Julia Jordan (0-7) who paces Academy of Art with 39 strikeouts (sixth in PacWest) in 41.0 innings pitched.
IT'S A ZU
Winning three of five in the Concordia Kickoff Classic and splitting four games in the D2 Cactus Classic, Azusa Pacific has won five of its last six games including three of four at Holy Names most recently. For a Cougars team that's currently leading the PacWest with seven triples, Olivia Smith's .476 batting average (second in PacWest) comes with nine stolen bases (second in PacWest). Defensively, Sydnie Sahhar (3-3) is inside the conference's top 10 with a 2.48 ERA as well as 41 strikeouts in 42.1 innings pitched. Relatively even through 18 games thus far, APU is up 10-8 in the historical matchup with the Knights.
CARRYING THE LUMBER
Cal Poly Humboldt had an up-and-down start to its season, splitting its first three doubleheaders before taking eight straight losses to Cal State East Bay and No. 16 Chico State. Four Lumberjacks are batting over .320 led by JoAna Mullins' .387 clip while Vanessa Saltos adds seven home runs and 18 RBIs. The team's lowest ERA belongs to Karen Di Dio (4-4) at 4.50. A total of 20 previous meetings have Humboldt up 13-6-1 on ART U.
NO. 3 EAGLES SWEEP DOUBLEHEADER TO END SERIES WITH KNIGHTS
On the final day of its first Pacific West Conference series of the season hosting No. 3 Concordia, Academy of Art softball saw freshman pitcher
Julia Jordan (0-7) spin over five scoreless innings and senior catcher/infielder
Lauryn Henderson drive in three of her teammates while connecting for a pair of doubles. In the end, the Eagles used a total of five multi-run rallies to win game three of the series 8-2 and the
Feb. 28 finale 9-1.
ON THE HORIZON
With its homestand complete this week, ART U will be on the road for its next three doubleheaders, the first of which is a non-conference matchup at SF State on Mar. 16.
