Wilson Is PacWest Player Of Week After Big Double-Doubles

PacWest Weekly Awards (Jan. 15)

IRVINE, Calif. – As Academy of Art women's basketball closed out its Hawaii road trip, sophomore forward/center Alisha Wilson continued to thrive in all aspects of the game and earned first Pacific West Conference Player of the Week for her efforts. Wilson averaged 25.0 points, 16.5 rebounds, 4.0 blocks, 2.5 assists, and 2.5 steals in the Urban Knights' 1-1 week. The award is for games played from Jan. 9 - 15.

Wilson turned her most complete performance of the season in a Jan. 10 rematch at Chaminade, scoring 27 points (one off her career-high set one month prior) while grabbing 18 rebounds, collecting five steals, dishing out four assists, and blocking four shots in 36 minutes on the court. She was 10-for-14 shooting from the field in ART U's 66-52 victory. Two days later on Jan. 12 versus UH Hilo, the Communications & Media Technologies major delivered her seventh consecutive double-double with 23 points (on 11-for-17 shooting from the floor), 15 rebounds, and another four blocks.

On the year, Wilson ranks first in the PacWest in double-doubles (9) as well as rebounds (12.8), third in scoring (16.7 points per game) and field goal percentage (.522), fourth in blocks (1.2), and sixth in steals per game (2.2).

This is the second PacWest weekly honor for Wilson this season after she was named Defender of the Week on Jan. 4. It is her fourth career weekly award and her first time as Player of the Week.
