SHORT TRIP UP NORTH
Academy of Art will travel up to San Rafael to play against the Penguins of Dominican in a Pacific West Conference matchup this Saturday at Kennelly Field.

KNIGHT WATCH
Coming off a win in their most recent match, the Urban Knights played a solid game in a shutout victory against Lincoln. Only eight minutes into the contest, redshirt junior defender Katie Williams scored her second goal of the season off a corner from freshman defender/forward Jade Alverio, who recorded the first point of her collegiate career. Alverio then went on to score her first career goal as well on the first assist of the season and second in the career of junior defender/forward Halldóra Einarsdóttir. Graduate student midfielder Morgan Day also had a piece of the action, scoring a goal off a deflection by the goalkeeper to put the team up 3-0, as this goal is also the first of her career. Senior forward/midfielder Brooklyn Villapudua recently moved into tied for third in the program's all-time assists list, and sophomore goalkeeper Alicia Calderon recorded her second career shutout while in goal, with the other being against Lincoln last year in another 3-0 victory. The Knights look to capitalize off this momentum heading into their away matches, looking to make an impact in conference play.

OUTPERFORMING THE PENGUINS
Not yet able to find any wins yet in conference action and currently sitting in ninth place in the PacWest standings, Dominican is 4-8-1 overall and 0-4-1 in the PacWest. The Penguins are coming off a non-conference win against UC Santa Cruz, while losing four straight in conference matchups, and being outscored 8-4 in their last five matches. Alejandra Melendez is the leader in points for the Penguins (8), scoring four goals on the season on her team-high 27 shots taken. Miranda Gregory is another offensive threat to look out for on Dominican, as she currently holds a .684 shot on goal percentage, going 13 for 19 this season. Rylee Buesing and Natalie Haro have split time in goal this year almost down the middle, with Haro suiting up and starting in their last two matches. The pair have a collective 1.23 goal against average, playing in low-scoring matches as no team in any of their 13 games total have scored more than three goals in 2023, including the Penguins themselves. Dominican took a win in a non-conference setting earlier this year against the Knights, claiming a 1-0 victory at Paul Goode Field. Dominican is 13-6-3 all-time when playing ART U.

WOMEN'S SOCCER SEAL 3-0 VICTORY IN LAST HOME MATCH
Academy of Art women's soccer triumphed out at Paul Goode Field on Oct. 17 as they shut out the Oaklanders of Lincoln in a non-conference setting with a final score of 3-0.

LOOKING AHEAD 
After this matchup, ART U will travel to Southern California to take on a trio of schools, ending their 2023 campaign with a schedule set with Westmont, Point Loma, and Biola, all in line for action.
