AZUSA, Calif. – Matched up with No. 4 Hawaii Pacific on Sunday morning, Academy of Art women's tennis battled, but ultimately fell 7-0 at Azusa Pacific's Munson Bavougian Tennis Complex.
Doubles action began the day as the Sharks (8-4) collected the point with wins on courts two and three over the Urban Knights (4-3). Though Hawaii Pacific secured the match victory in singles play, junior
Yun "Nicole" Shiau pushed Abigail Wild with a tiebreaker second set on the fourth court and junior
Viktoria Leth did the same in her opening set in the fifth spot. Despite their efforts, Shiau would drop a 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) decision and Leth ended 7-6 (8-6), 6-3 in her matchup. Ultimately, HPU came away with the 7-0 win.
One final match remains on the Urban Knights' Southern California road trip and it takes place Mar. 7 versus No. 1 Barry back at the Munson Bavougian Tennis Complex at 9 a.m.
