Del Carlo Sixth Member Of Women's Soccer Recruiting Class

SAN FRANCISCO – Steadily growing in effort to build a robust and competitive group of incoming student-athletes, Academy of Art women's soccer announced Alanna Del Carlo (San Leandro, Calif./San Leandro HS) as the sixth member of its Fall 2023 recruiting class. 

Alanna Del Carlo"I chose to come to ART U because I fell in love with the campus and the environment surrounding the school," Del Carlo said. "I'm able to pursue two of my favorite things in the world, and I didn't know it was possible until I found out about ART U. Going to school in San Francisco is pretty exciting as well, the school itself seems like a place where I can finally be myself."

Del Carlo will join Academy of Art as the incoming class' fourth true freshman in August after she graduates from San Leandro High School in her hometown of San Leandro, Calif. this spring where she played varsity soccer each of her four seasons. This past campaign in 2022, the combo midfielder and defender ended fourth on the team in points with sixth thanks to a pair of goals and assists, with the two helpers tied for the lead on the Pirates. Following the year she was named WACC All-League Second Team, the second time earning an all-league award after she was selected as a WACC All-League Honorable Mention in 2019-20. 

Outside of her prep career, the Bay Area native has appeared for a number of competitive club teams in the area, including her current squad of Albion EB Academy for whom she began her time with in 2022. Prior to her current club, she has also spent time in the Juventus Academy East Bay (2020-22), San Leandro Sporting United (2016-20), and Club Deportivo Barcelona (2012-16).

Upon her arrival to ART U, Del Carlo will enter the School of Graphic Design with the goal of one day becoming an art director. She now joins the Fall 2023 recruiting class that includes Kayla Hampton, Jorryn EcheverriaBreanna BernardsonValeria Perez Rivera, and Ashley Tasev.
