Metcalf's Diverse Showing Clips Second Player Of The Week

LONG BEACH, Calif. –
Senior forward Quintin Metcalf of Academy of Art men's basketball has been named Player of the Week by the Pacific West Conference once again for the week of Dec. 16  - Dec. 22 following his performance in the Urban Knights' victory over Chaminade on Dec. 21.

"Quintin's performance last week was critical to our victory over Chaminade," said Head Coach Scott Waterman. "His offensive efficiency and defensive presence changed the game."

In the contest, Metcalf scored 23 points, his season-high, while he went 7-for-9 from the field (.778), his second-best shooting percentage of the campaign, in addition to his 9-for-10 effort at the charity stripe. While also collecting seven rebounds, Metcalf showed up huge defensively for the PacWest Team of the Week as well as he recorded his new career-high in blocks (5) while tacking on two assists and a steal. 

Entering the new calendar year, Metcalf holds an average of 12.5 points per game, 8.0 rebounds per game (fourth-best in the Pacific West Conference), and 1.3 blocks per game (also fourth-best in conference).

Nearly approaching the midway point of the 2024-25 campaign, this award is the second Player of the Week honor for Metcalf through the first seven weeks after he was previously selected on Dec. 2.
