SAN FRANCISCO – Academy of Art women's soccer has announced a new addition to its recruiting class with the squad midway through their spring semester, as joining the Urban Knights next season will be goalkeeper Aubrey Schraml (Colorado Springs, Colo./Rampart).
"I decided to come to ART U because it managed to have everything I was looking for," Schraml said. "It was very difficult to find an art school that also had athletics programs, so I'm very excited to be able to keep that part of my life while pursuing my passion!"
A dual-sport athlete at Rampart High School while studying academics at Village High School, Schraml turned her focus over to soccer towards her junior and senior campaigns where she joined the varsity squad. After a 2023 season where Schraml was a key part of a 14-3 season (14 consecutive wins) while ranking first place in the 5A CSML Conference with a 5-0 record, the Colorado Springs, Colo. native was named to the CHSAA 5A All-Conference Second Team, while additionally being placed on the CHSAA Academic First Team.
While playing high school soccer, Schraml competed with her club team, FC Pride ECNL 06G, where she earned ECNL All-Conference Second Team honors in 2021-22.
"I am most excited to experience independence and start growing my art skills further," Schraml said.
While in pursuit of her future goal of working as a cartoon animator, Schraml joins Academy of Art this fall.
