Matthew "AO" Ogden began as a volunteer with Academy of Art men’s golf in March 2023.
Ogden brings his creativity, vast golf knowledge, course management wisdom and exceptional short game skills to the Urban Knights.
Ogden's debut season with the program's helm saw the Urban Knights continue to gain valuable experience as they worked toward a finish in the middle of the pack at the Pacific West Conference Championship Tournament by the year's end. There,
Anson Pan delivered a top-10 result to make the
PacWest All-Tournament Team while Giulio
Zanichelli, who eventually went on to be named
All-PacWest Second Team, turned in his fifth top-20 performance to wrap up the 2022-23 campaign.
A 1994 graduate of Arizona State University and former four-year member of the Sun Devil lacrosse team, Ogden spent over seven years in law enforcement before retiring to pursue a creative career. He has since spent 20 years in the entertainment industry as a director, producer, and editor in film, music, and television. Since 2009, Ogden has been creative director and video director for iconic Bay Area rock band, Primus.
With six feature films under his belt, other career highlights include co-founding MTV Live (formerly Palladia) in 2005, where he served as post-production supervisor and co-founding a college lacrosse print publication in 2007, where he held the position of creative director.
Ogden is co-captain of Presidio Golf Course's Northern California Golf Association Match Play Team and is a competitive amateur golfer playing in several NorCal golf tournaments annually.
