Junior guard Chris Salas had a dominant game on Saturday against Notre Dame de Namur. He had a flawless first half, shooting 6-for-6 from the field and 3-for-3 from beyond the three-point line. Overall, Salas posted his second-highest point total of the year (18), going 7-for-9 and contributing seven rebounds.
On the season, Salas leads the team in several categories: points per game (13.0), field goals and three-point field goals made per game (4.7, 2.1 respectively), rebounds per game (4.3), and minutes per game (28.4).
After the game, head coach Julius Barnes said a few words about Salas’ performance:
“[He] has been very consistent for us this year. He can impact the game in a variety of different ways and has a knack for making big plays. His hot hand in the first half helped keep us within striking distance and his contributions on defense deserve some praise as well.”
