Box Score

Honolulu, Hawai'i --
The Academy of Art women's volleyball team dropped its second match in two days against a Pac West Conference opponent. The Urban Knights came out tough against Chaminade University and won the first set (26-24). Although AAU was able to keep the next three sets relatively close, the visitors could not pull off a victory on the road and ultimately lost to the Silverswords in four sets (26-24, 21-25,19-25,16-25).

Sophomore outside hitter Dan Yang had 18 kills to pace the Knights while KaUwila Lavea added 11. Alexandra Leja led the Urban Knight offense putting up 23 assists on the night. Defensively both teams were stout at the net, finishing with total team blocks even at 12 apiece. Angela Heath had a solid game, finishing the evening with 8 kills and 5 of the 12 blocks. Offensively, Chaminade out-hit AAU .191 to .169 on the match while the Urban Knights led in digs, 49 to 44.

For the Silverswords, senior Trina Kauliakamoa led the way with 14 kills and 10 digs on the evening. Tanya Alvino led the offense with 31 assists while Chauntelle Maduli anchored the defense with 10 digs.
With the loss, AAU drops to 16-8 overall and Chaminade moves to 10-13 on the year.

The Urban Knights will play their third game in three days on Wednesday (10/29) at 5:30pm. They look to take on Sea Warriors who are 9-11 overall, and 6-4 conference. HPU is coming off of back-to-back wins against Grand Canyon University and should prove to be a true test for the Urban Knights who also beat the Lopes in four sets earlier in the season.
