San Francisco, Ca-- The Academy of Art University's Men's Soccer Team took the field on Thursday afternoon to compete in the University's first soccer match. The visiting Cal State Stanislaus Warriors were greeted by an eager Urban Knights squad. The Urban Knights played an aggressive first half, yet they remained scoreless.
After a scoreless first half, Jamie Patino (Davie,FL) scored a goal off a free-kick taken by Andrew Gonzales (Sultan, WA) from 30-yards out.
Jaime's goal was the first goal scored in an official match for the Urban Knights of the Academy of Art University. The Academy's Athletics Department is in its inaugural year and the match was the first official game in the school's athletic history.
Shortly after, Cal State Stanislaus answered right back with a goal by Sergio Sousa. The match remained tied for the remainder of regulation and OT periods. Head Coach Daniel Rosaia
