Knights Drop Match Against NNU

Box Score

Nampa, ID --
In the first of a pair of matches for the Urban Knights this weekend, Academy of Art University was bested by Northwest Nazarene University 4-1 Saturday afternoon at the NNU Soccer Field. Freshman forward Brazer Bozlak netted AAU's only goal in unassisted fashion on a free kick late in the 82nd minute, but the Crusaders had already secured a three goals lead by that point and held on to win.

The Urban Knights started the match eager to continue their winning streak. As the first half progressed they managed to stay even with Northwest Nazarene until the 36th minute when the Falcons' Alex Mangeac scored his first of three goals. He knocked in an unassisted goal off of a free kick to make the score 0-1.

The Urban Knights went into the half down one, but even in shots with both teams tallying five shots for the half. AAU would substitute goalkeeper Daniel Waller (Biggin Hill, England), who notched one save and allowed one goal in his 45 minutes of play, for Ian Sutherland (Honolulu, HI) at the start of the second half.

The second half was all Falcons as they wasted no time on the attack. Alex Mangeac would go on to score their next two goals within the first 15 minutes of play. He netted his second goal of the match at 48 minutes and his third at the 56th minute mark to put NNU up 0-3.

The only AAU goal would come by Bozlak (Gavle, Sweden) late in the game. The goal marks the first for Bozlak on the season. With only eight minutes remaining on the clock the late game goal proved to be to little to late for the Urban Knights. As the clock wound down NNU's Renatto Brito stopped any chance of a comeback by scoring the Falcons fourth and final goal at the 88th minute mark and secured the victory.

For the Falcons, Mangeac had six shots and scored three goals. Benjamin Mangeac attempted two shots one of which was on goal and had one assist. Britto was one for one on the match taking one shot and connecting for the Falcons fourth and final goal.

For the Urban Knights, Bozlak was one for one and scored the Knights only goal. Kyle Mannschreck (Minden, NV) managed two shots with one being on goal. Waller faced five shots allowing one goal and making one save, while Sutherland faced seven shots allowing three goals and managing one save. The Urban Knights were outshot 12-8.

Both teams are now 2-2 on the season. The Urban Knights retake the field Sunday afternoon when they take on the University of Mary at 2:00 PM.
