2010 Dominican Invitational Team & Individual Results

San Francisco, CA -- As part of Dominican University's final tune up meet, the 2010 Dominican Invitational, the Academy of Art University men's cross country squad placed 1st Tuesday afternoon on a 5k course in Golden Gate Park. The meet included three Pacific West Conference teams from the regional “pod” of ART U, Notre Dame de Namur, and host Dominican.

Helping the Urban Knights finish ahead of the pack, junior Joey Villasenor took 2nd place overall and 1st place of countable runners with a time of 17:34.61. Of the 14-runner field, freshman Zack Sainz turned in a 19:46.98 mark to cross the line 2nd among countable runners (4th overall). Capturing 4th in the race (8th overall) was junior Josh Ballesteros who finished with a time of 20:46.85. Junior Daveson Marindich posted a 6th place result (10th overall) with a time of 20:57.35 on the 5k course. The fifth qualifier for ART U was senior Edmund Boey who placed 8th (12th overall), sporting a 22:49.25 mark.

On the day, Academy of Art University finished with an average time of 20:04.6. The individual winner was NDNU's Ryan Nunez who turned in a time of 17:29.17.

The PacWest Championships are up next for ART U on Nov. 6 in Hawaii and will be hosted by Chaminade.
