St. George, UT – The Academy of Art University's women's tennis team started their short road trip facing Dixie State College on Friday evening. The Urban Knights looked promising starting the game off with two singles win. But the Red Storm came back, and the overall score was tied after all the singles matches. It all came down to the doubles, and the Knights were unable to muster up any wins. AAU ended up losing the game with a score of 6-3.

Diane Phan led off the game with a singles match in which she came out victorious. She defeated Alicia Holm 6-4, 6-0. Laone "Lala" Botshoma also proved to be too much for her Red Storm opponent as she defeated Lydia Hayes 7-5, 6-4. The other Urban Knight to out play her opponent was Maria "Belen" Tenorio who led over Adrienne Davis of Dixie State with a score of 6-4, 6-0.

Although they were unable to win any doubles matches, the Urban Knights played well and put up a strong outing. Double pairs Diane Phan and Laone "Lala" Botshoma, and Paola Correa Fe and Anna Ritchie both lost their matches with a score of 9-8.

After the loss, the Academy of Art University's record falls to 2-5 overall while Dixie State's record improves to 2-5. The Urban Knights will play again tomorrow, February 27^th, to conclude their Utah road trip, against Division I members Southern Utah University. Game time is set for 8:00 AM at Green Valley Tennis Club.
