URBAN KNIGHTS HOST ARGOS IN FINAL HOME GAME OF 2012

Academy of Art University men's soccer makes its final appearance of the year at home, and its first in the past three weeks, this Friday to host Pacific West Conference rival Notre Dame de Namur. The Urban Knights will be looking to avenge a 3-1 loss to the Argonauts earlier this year and remain intent on building momentum into the Hawaii roadtrip that ends the season. A trio of ART U seniors, Brazer Bozlak, Grimur Grimsson, and Ian Sutherland, will be honored prior to the match. Go HERE for Fan Bus sign ups!

OPENING KICKOFF
After four matches away from home, the Knights return to Crocker Amazon Park for one final time this Friday, Oct. 26 against NDNU. A special Senior Day ceremony is scheduled for just prior to the match which is set to kick off at 11:00 AM. Remember to follow @ARTU_Knights on Twitter and "Like" the Urban Knights on Facebook for score updates, videos, and recaps.

KNIGHT WATCH
Freshman Jesus "Chava" Sanchez posted his second game-winning goal for Academy of Art University last week and earned a PacWest Weekly Fantastic 15 honor for his efforts. Over half of the Urban Knights who have competed this season have been involved in the 14 goals with a total of 13 players either serving as the scorer or assistor. Grimsson, who will conclude his career as the most prolific scorer for ART U, comes into the week holding the program record in total goals (14) and game-winners (7) with two goals and three assists in 2012. Currently ranked 24th in the country in total saves (70), Sutherland also ranks third in the PacWest in that category. Like Grimsson, Sutherland's accomplished career in goal nears its conclusion as he plays his final home game in the black and red this Friday.

NO DENYING NDNU
As the West Region's fifth-ranked team, Notre Dame de Namur currently sits just behind #8 Grand Canyon and sports a 9-2-1 PacWest record. Since their 3-1 victory over ART U on Oct. 4, the Argonauts have gone 4-1 with their only loss coming in overtime against California Baptist 1-0. Still with their share of close contests, NDNU topped Dominican, Azusa Pacific, and Holy Names (second contest) each by one goal apiece. Led by Armando Garcia (eight goals, six assists), who scored twice in the match versus Academy of Art, the Argos offer a trio of dangerous weapons along with Jesus Gonzalez (five goals, six assists) and Johnathan Gonzalez (six goals, two assists). In goal, Jay Tsurouka has made all 16 starts, putting together a 1.02 goals against average with 46 saves and five shutouts.

THE WEEK THAT WAS
Propelled by an early goal from Sanchez, the Urban Knights hung in and held the line for a 1-0 shutout of Dominican at Kennelly Field on Oct. 18. Sutherland led the defensive team effort with five saves despite a hot and windy day across the bay. Two days later, Academy of Art University then hung tough against an early goal from their opponents, Fresno Pacific, but could not break through despite an offense-heavy second half. Behind by only a single goal for the majority of the match, ART U had seven of its nine shot attempts in a second period they controlled. FPU, however, would end up prevailing 2-0 on its own Ramirez Field.

LOOKING AHEAD
Off to Hawaii for the final three matches of the season, ART U is set to match up against Chaminade (Oct. 30), Hawaii Pacific (Nov. 1), and UH Hilo (Nov. 3).
