ACADEMY OF ART MEETS PACWEST RIVAL ARGONAUTS
After finishing up its September homestand, ART U Men's Soccer enters this one-match week with Notre Dame de Namur, the #5 ranked team in the West Region, as its opponent. The returning Urban Knights will remember fondly the last time they met their local rival at Koret Field when an
overtime goal by Frederik Nagel dramatically broke a 1-1 tie. Be sure to follow

OPENING KICKOFF
ART U travels down the Peninsula to Belmont, CA for its first meeting with NDNU this Thursday, Oct. 4. The Knights and Argos are set to kick off at 1:00 PM. Remember to check the @ARTU_Knights on Twitter and Urban Knights Facebook for score updates, videos, and recaps.
KNIGHT WATCH
Sitting at 99 goals in program history, the Urban Knights have shown a diversity of talent this year as still 13 different Urban Knights have been involved in a total of 11 Academy of Art University goals whether it be as the scorer or assistor. Senior Grimur Grimsson comes off a week in which he scored against Dominican and assisted Nagel's goal versus Holy Names. With those additions, he has 31 points for his career to lead all ART U players. Freshman Jesus "Chava" Sanchez and junior Patrick Heinemann each have two goals apiece as well. Junior Aron Ekberg picked up his team-leading fourth assist this past week and is among the PacWest's Top 10 assistors. Currently ranked 13th in the country in total saves (51), senior goalkeeper Ian Sutherland remains ranked second in the PacWest in that category.
CAN'T ARGUE WITH THE ARGOS
Notre Dame de Namur's season has been heavy on the wins column thus far. At 7-2-1 overall, the Argonauts may have opened the year with a 4-2 loss to Seattle Pacific, currently #12 in the country, but they proceeded to rattle off six straight victories including a 3-2 overtime win against San Francisco State. PacWest play began with NDNU's 2-1 victory against Dixie State (Sept. 15), then followed with a 3-1 triumph over Grand Canyon (Sept. 17) and a 1-0 win at Point Loma (Sept. 22). Notre Dame de Namur now comes out of its Hawaii trip with a 1-1-1 result, tying UH Hilo 1-1, defeating Chaminade 2-1, and falling to BYU-Hawaii 2-1. Armando Garcia is currently tied with GCU's Saeed Robinson for ninth overall in the PacWest in points (13) by way of his four goals and five assists. Goalkeeper Jay Tsurouka has spent over 778 minutes in goal, allowing 12 goals in 10 starts with 31 saves to his name. Another storied rivalry currently has the Argos and Knights tied 3-3 all-time.
THE WEEK THAT WAS
The Academy of Art University men's soccer team was again locked in fierce battles with two local PacWest rivals this past week as ART U closed its eight-match September homestand. Hosting Dominican on Thursday, the Urban Knights may have been down 1-0 at halftime, but the score was quickly knotted back up with Grimsson's 14th career goal off a two-part assist from junior Andrew Durano and Ekberg. Unfortunately it was the Penguins who came out on top this time as Kolby Mitnick scored in the 76th minute to force the 2-1 final.
In the 67th minute of Saturday's match against Holy Names, a fitting game-tying goal was scored by Nagel from Grimsson on what was International Day for ART U. All three of the match's goals were scored in the second half and again a late goal by the Hawks turned the tide in a 2-1 victory for the visitors.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Urban Knights will remain on the road for the next two weeks with California Baptist (Oct. 13) on the horizon before a pair of contests outside San Francisco (at Dominican on Oct. 18 and at Fresno Pacific on Oct. 20).
