OPENING SERVE

The Urban Knights have started off the year by rattling off six straight wins, including convincing wins against 28th-ranked Tarleton State and PacWest foe Chaminade on the first day of the Grand Canyon Tournament. The 6-0 mark is the best start in program history.

SUNBIRDS SHOWING STRENGTHS
Fresno Pacific is entering their first year in the PacWest Conference, but is no stranger to tennis success, coming off a 22-5 season last year that saw them advance to the third round of the NAIA National Championships. The Sunbirds and Urban Knights saw each other for FPU's first match of the year, handing the Knights an 8-1 defeat. So far in 2013, the Sunbirds are 5-2, falling to Pacific in only the second team shutout in program history, and also losing to host Grand Canyon at the Grand Canyon Invitational last week.

KNIGHTS WITH CLEAN SHEETS
The Urban Knights currently boast four doubles teams and six singles players without a loss on their record so far, and one player who has not lost a match on either side all year. Daniela Amelunge Antelo continues her dominance, holding a 4-0 singles record, while also combining with Nina Gajdosikova (5-0) and Amal Ben El Hadj (1-0) for a flawless 6-0 doubles record as well. Ben El Hadj (6-0), Michelle Dandik Zaale (5-0), Jenny Johansson (5-0), Tamara Kenia (3-0), and Sarah Lemp (2-0) also are without a loss in singles play this year, while the teams of Johansson and Lemp and Kenia and Lemp have not lost in doubles play.

ART U OUT FOR REVENGE ON WARRIORS
The Academy of Art set a program record for wins last season but are well on their way this year to breaking that if the early season can be any indication, They'll have to get through a tough Cal State Stanislaus team, however, one that beat them twice last year. The Warriors, who were 9-4 last season, are off to a slow start this year at 1-3, with their only win coming against the Urban Knights conference rival Holy Names in a clean 9-0 sweep.

WHAT'S UP NEXT
After being at home for two games, the Knights will head to San Rafael to take on Dominican on March 2, followed by the Dixie State Duals against Colorado Mesa (March 8) and host Dixie State (March 9).
