San Francisco, CA — Four games into the Pacific West Conference schedule and the Academy of Art University men's soccer team has played three games against teams above them in the standings – including the conference's top two teams – and just one below them.

This week the Urban Knights (4-6, 2-2 PacWest) will look for their schedule to even out a bit as they take on two teams below them in the standings, though the squads will be hungry for wins themselves. Thursday the Knights travel to Riverside to face Cal Baptist (3-7-1, 2-3 PacWest) and Saturday they face Point Loma Nazarene (2-7-2, 2-3-1 PacWest) in San Diego.

Last week ART U had its defensive scoreless streak broken by Fresno Pacific, who scored two goals to beat the Urban Knights 2-1, their second one-goal loss of the season.

ABOUT CAL BAPTIST
The Lancers (3-7-1, 2-3 PacWest) have lost three straight matches and five of their last seven. They have been shutout twice in that seven-game stretch and outscored 12-2 in their last five losses. Thursday's game begins an eight-game homestand for the Lancers that will take them to the end of the regular season.

Aidan Apodaca leads the Lancers in scoring with four goals and nine points while taking a team-high 28 shots so far. Andrew Reveles is right behind him with three goals scored. Noah Oyler and Ian Clark have shared time minding the net this season for Cal Baptist and have combined to hold opponents to            a 1.84 goals against average, but the Lancers themselves have been held to 1.05 goals per game.

ABOUT POINT LOMA NAZARENE
The Sea Lions (2-7-2, 2-3-1 PacWest) are unbeaten in their last three games (2-0-1), but that short stretch snapped a seven-game losing streak and an eight-game winless streak (0-7-1) to start the season. Five of PLNU's seven losses have been by one goal.

Four players have scored two goals each to lead the Sea Lions. Matt Rose has added two assists to lead the team in points with six. Avrin Yakou has been the goalkeeper of record during Point Loma Nazarene's recent surge, logging two shutouts and bringing his goals against average down to 1.17 on the year.

SCORE MORE THAN ONE AND THEY'VE WON
The Urban Knights are 4-0 this season when scoring two or more goals in a game. The defense has also stepped up in those games, as ART U has outscored opponents 11-1 in its four victories. Conversely, when the Knights score one or zero goals this season they are 0-6 and have been outscored 19-5.
