SAN FRANCISCO — The biggest challenge of the Academy of Art University women's tennis regular season faces the Urban Knights this week when the team travels to Hawaii to play three matches in four days, including two against national top-six ranked teams.

The Urban Knights (4-1) resume competition on Wednesday after an eight-day break. ART U will face its fourth and fifth NCAA Division II top-30 teams when it takes on No. 4 BYU-Hawaii on Wednesday and No. 6 Hawaii Pacific Saturday, bookending a matchup at Chaminade on Thursday.

ABOUT No. 4 BYU-HAWAIIThe Seasiders (16-1) finally lost their first match of the season on Wednesday when NCAA Division I member Old Dominion defeated them 4-2. They started a fresh streak Thursday with an 8-1 victory over D-I Cleveland State. They began the season with 15 straight victories.

The Seasiders boast three top-10 ranked singles players, including No. 2-ranked Dallas Zhang. No. 6 Karen Liu and No. 10 Marietta Tuionetoa round out a solid top-three singles group for BYUH. Zhang and Lui also form the No. 3 doubles team in the country.

ABOUT CHAMINADEThe Silverswords (0-9) have yet to win a match this season. They are 0-5 versus top-25 ranked teams and 0-3 at home. They have only played three matches against non-Hawaii teams, losing all three by a combined score of 25-2.

ABOUT No. 6 HAWAII PACIFICThe Sharks (14-2) have been hot as of late, winning five straight matches – all against NCAA Division II top-25 teams. Their only two home losses this season came against D-I teams. HPU is 12-0 against D-II teams this season and is 7-0 against top-25 D-II teams.
