KNIGHT WATCH
15080Currently locked in a three-way tie for eighth place in the PacWest standings, Academy of Art continues to be led defensively by junior middle blocker Margaret Winkler. The Poznan, Poland native has moved back into her place as conference leader in blocks per set (1.19) and ranks 24th in the country. With five more blocks, Winkler will pass four Urban Knights to assume fourth on the program's all-time career list. Offensively, senior outside hitter Melissa Brum, who averages a team-high 3.03 kills per set, is also closing in on history as she needs 38 kills to become ART U's career kills leader. Freshman setter Lilika Teu remains top nine in the PacWest at 6.42 assists per set and redshirt freshman Ema Causevic has now moved into the conference's top seven in service aces per set (0.33).

NOTES ON NOTRE DAME DE NAMUR
After starting the year with a 3-2 victory over Holy Names, Notre Dame de Namur dropped four consecutive contests, but bounced back with a 3-1 win over Cal State San Marcos and soon another at HNU. A five-match losing streak ensued during the Argonauts' first PacWest homestand, but they would dig deep for a 3-2 victory on the road at California Baptist on Oct. 5. Currently 4-13 on the year, NDNU plays at Dominican Thursday night before facing ART U on Saturday. In a total of 16 previous meetings, Academy of Art is 12-4 against the Argonauts.

ART U GOES 1-2 IN HAWAII
On the islands of Hawaii most recently, Academy of Art opened its three-part roadtrip with a 3-0 loss to Chaminade on Oct. 7, but proceeded to bounce back by sweeping BYU-Hawaii for the second time this season on Oct. 8. The Urban Knights then dropped a 3-0 matchup with Hawaii Pacific on Oct. 10.

LOOKING AHEAD
ART U hosts next another local PacWest opponent in Holy Names on Oct. 20 back inside Kezar Pavilion. That contest will be followed by a road match at Fresno Pacific on Oct. 22.
