KNIGHTS TO PLAY THREE MATCHES IN FIVE DAYS INCLUDING SENIOR DAY
Back from its final extended roadtrip of the year, Academy of Art University volleyball remains local this week for contests against Notre Dame de Namur, UH Hilo, and Chaminade. This Saturday's matchup with the Vulcans will feature a pre-match ceremony to honor four-year seniors Melissa Brum and Kabrina Speakman.

FIRST SERVE
The week begins with a road contest this Thursday, Nov. 10 at NDNU's Walter Gleason Gym in Belmont. First serve is set for 7 p.m. Two days later (Nov.  12), in a change of venue, Academy of Art hosts UH Hilo at Mills College's Haas Pavilion in Oakland at 3 p.m. Finally, the busy stretch finishes with a match hosting Chaminade on Monday, Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m. back inside Kezar Pavilion. Live coverage will be available via the links above. Remember to follow @ARTU_Knights on Twitter & Instagram and "Like" the Urban Knights on Facebook for score updates, videos, and recaps.

KNIGHT WATCH
15171Now in the final two weeks of the season, Academy of Art remains fourth in the PacWest in both blocks per set (2.11) and service aces per set (1.61). Junior middle blocker Margaret Winkler leads ART U with 1.06 blocks per set (6th in PacWest) and is four blocks from moving into third on the all-time career list. Now with 1,353 career kills and 1,505.5 points, senior outside hitter Melissa Brum seeks another program record just four digs from becoming the career digs leader. Freshman setter Lilika Teu is top 10 in the PacWest in assists per set (6.72) while redshirt freshman Ema Causevic ranks third in the PacWest in service aces per set (0.42), a mark that currently sits as the highest single-season average in program history.

THANK YOU MA'AM, MAY WE HAVE A NOTRE
Following Notre Dame de Namur's 3-1 victory over the Urban Knights back on Oct. 15, the Argonauts have gone 2-3, splitting in Hawaii before being swept by both Dixie State and Dominican. The rematch with ART U comes amid a six-match NDNU homestand with a single win separating the teams' conference records. The national leader in attacks per set (10.23) Bianca Alvarez also comes in as the PacWest leader with 5.03 kills per set. The Argos' victory earlier this year made a small dent in the 12-5 all-time matchup which favors Academy of Art.

HELLO HILO
It has been an up-and-down year for UH Hilo with no losing streak greater than three matches and no win streak more than two matches to produce a 9-12 overall record. Hovering around the middle part of the conference standings for much of the year, the Vulcans' highlights have included sweeps of Hawaii Pacific (Sept. 21), Azusa Pacific (Sept. 29), and Fresno Pacific (Oct. 15). Hilo takes wins in two of its last six matches into a Nov. 11 contest at Holy Names before facing the Knights. Marley Strand-Nicolaisen leads the team with the fourth-highest kills per set average (4.23) in the PacWest. In 11 previous meetings, UH Hilo leads ART U 9-2.

WE DECLARE A REDUEL!
When Academy of Art and Chaminade met in Hawaii on Oct. 7, the Silverswords came away with the sweep and proceeded to win five of their next seven matches during their largest homestand of the year. On the road for the remainder of 2016, Chaminade will play Fresno Pacific (Nov. 11) and NDNU (Nov. 12) prior to its penultimate matchup with ART U. Daisia LaBrie leads the Silverswords in hitting percentage (.346, second in PacWest) and blocks per set (1.07, 4th in PacWest) while Kim Spring offers a team-high 3.12 kills per set. Despite the loss to CUH earlier this season, the Knights are still 8-5 all-time against the Swords.

SEA LIONS TOP KNIGHTS TO END SOCAL TRIP
Academy of Art University volleyball remained resilient on Nov. 5 inside Golden Gymnasium, fighting off a total of eight set points (six in the first set), but ultimately Point Loma held on to win 3-0 (28-26, 25-22, 25-20) in the Pacific West Conference matchup that completed the Urban Knights' tour of Southern California.

LOOKING AHEAD
The final week of the Urban Knights' season features a home finale hosting Fresno Pacific on Thursday, Nov. 17 then the 2016 finale at Holy Names on Saturday, Nov. 19.
