SAN FRANCISCO – On September 3, Academy of Art men's soccer will step on the field to commence what will be their 10th season of competition at the collegiate level. The Urban Knights' 2017 opener will come against Cal State East Bay and will be played in front of their home crowd for the first time since 2014.

Entering his fifth year at the helm, head coach
Mike Keller has brought in a recruitment class of seven players, including six freshmen and one sophomore. The freshmen include:
Kris Jensson,
Oliver Hadeen,
Connor Lacey,
Jaret Gil,
Jon Peregrina, and
Mykal Mason. The team's newest sophomore is
Zak Kiser who joins the Urban Knights after competing for a year at Paris Junior College in Texas. Jensson, an Iceland native, will join an already established pair of Nordic men's soccer players in
Jón Jóhannesson and

Amongst the team's returners will be four seniors:
Alex Walsh,
Dominic Payerchin, Johannesson, and
Jonny Navarro. Walsh, Payerchin, and Johannesson are each returning for their fourth seasons with ART U and they will look to provide leadership for the incoming players.
