KNOTABLE KNIGHTS
Sophomore midfielder
Isiah Quiros has scored the only goal for the Urban Knights this season, coming in their
first match against Cal State East Bay. Quiros has also started every game this year and is one of only four Knights to have played every minute thus far. Freshman midfielder
Jaret Gil has also made an impact in his first year with ART U. The Richmond, Mich. native is the only other player to have registered a point, as he earned the assist on Quiros' goal against the Pioneers.
PIONEERS ARE EVEN OUT OF THE GATE
William Jessup posted a strong start to their 2017 campaign, winning two of their first three matches. Since then however, the Warriors have dropped two of their last three contests against Dominican and Rocky Mountain College and finished in a 2-2 tie with UC Merced. Christian Guzman has been William Jessup's biggest offensive force thus far, scoring a team-leading four goals along with an assist for a total of nine points.
PREVIOUS MATCH: ART U FALLS IN GOLDEN GATE CLASSIC FINALE
Sept. 10 - In the finale of the 2017 Golden Gate Classic, Academy of Art squared off with cross-town rival SF State. Despite a strong ART U defense having only allowed a total of two goals over the season's first pair of matches, the Urban Knights could not withstand an early SF State offensive-surge, eventually falling 5-0.
LOOKING AHEAD
After facing William Jessup on Saturday, Academy of Art will head to Notre Dame de Namur on September 21 for their first PacWest matchup of the season.
