2018 Women's Tennis All-PacWest Teams

IRVINE, Calif. – Capping off the Academy of Art women's tennis program's most successful season, a trio of Urban Knights were named to the All-PacWest team. No. 6-ranked Alma Thell-Lenntorp and Klara Thell-Lenntorp headlined the doubles First Team while No. 12 Monika Stanikova and No. 30 K. Thell-Lenntorp were given Second Team Honors in singles.
 
In doubles, the twins started off the fall by claiming the title at the ITA Regional Doubles Championship for the second-consecutive season. They ranked as high as No. 6 in the nation and won 19 of 20 doubles matches against Division II opponents including five upsets over higher-ranked opponents. Their biggest victory came in the quarterfinals of Nationals when they defeated the No. 1 doubles team in the nation from Barry University. The Thell-Lenntorps finished the season as the highest-ranked doubles team in both the PacWest and the West Region. This is the twins' third-consecutive All-PacWest award and second to the First Team.
 
Playing exclusively in No. 1 singles, Stanikova ranked as high as No. 7 in the nation which is the best singles ranking in ART U history. She went 13-8 in singles against Division II adversaries which included three upsets over higher-ranked opponents and she posted a seven-game winning streak. This is her second All-PacWest Second Team nod.
 
K. Thell-Lenntorp went 13-8 as a singles player including a win over Division I, San Jose State to begin the season. After beginning the year in the third position, the Lund, Sweden native worked her way up to No. 2 singles by the end of the season and ranked as high as No. 25. This is her first All-PacWest award as a singles player.
